About us, at Madame Tarot
My name is Marissa Newman and I have been a student of the Tarot for over a decade. This site is a direct descendent of my “Learning to Read Tarot Cards” podcast found on I-Tunes. I realized while preparing for my podcasts that I was holding back so much information on each card that I needed to find an outlet to share it with others and with that Madame-Tarot.info was born.

About 13 years ago my husband, 4 children and I were on a day trip to the ocean near our home in Northern California. We stopped and visited a little store along the beach. It was in this store that I purchased my first Tarot deck.

I became “obsessed” with reading the cards. I loved the artwork and the symbols and learning the meanings of the cards. I found that the cards helped me to discover issues that I was avoiding in my life. It showed me fears that I wasn't acknowledging so I could move past problems and better myself and my relationships.

Over the years I have purchased 29 Tarot decks. My favorite decks are Druid Craft Tarot, The Gilded Tarot, Hanson Roberts, Spiral Tarot, The Gendron Tarot and The Russian Tarot of St. Petersburg. I am drawn to these decks because they are rich in design and color.

I have found that reading the Tarot cards came naturally to me because I was born with a “photographic memory. As you study the cards and learn the meanings of each one of them upright and reverse you will find out why this came in handy for me.

I am a member of the [American Tarot Association ], off site link, ATA, and subscribe to their code of ethics as well as my own. I believe anyone can learn to read the tarot cards. It takes a lot of dedication, patience and meditation. Through the years I have been asked if I am gifted. I don't see being able to read the cards as a gift. I view it more as a talent. A talent that I can be taught to others. Lessons
